About Me

Author

My name is Dr. Fawaz Al-Malood and I am the author of From Graduate to Professor: How to Find and Prepare for a College Teaching Position. I wrote this book to create a simple guide to provide graduates with some basic and practical suggestions to conduct a job search in higher education and prepare for the application process.  


Experience

I've been an educator for 16 years and over the years worn many hats ranging from teaching, management, and serving on several boards. 

I am currently the Associate Dean for the Business Division at Mt. San Antonio College. My division serves roughly 9,000 to 12,000 students in a variety of disciplines.


My professional areas of interest within academia include: education management, education marketing, program development, curriculum design, development and implementation of distance learning programs, web development for nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and online marketing strategic planning and analysis.


I am also the Founder of FacultyWorkshop.com a blog dedicated to sharing successful strategies on teaching, productivity, and professional development for college educators. In addition to blogging on FacultyWorkshop.com, I also the host of the FacultyWorkshop podcast, which is syndicated on iTunes, Stitcher Radio and Google Play Music. And last but not least, I'm a YouTuber, where I write, create, and produce video tutorials on productivity, Google Apps, and Moodle at https:/www.youtube.com/FacultyWorkshop



Education

I consider myself a life-long learner, so I will always be a student; however, at this time, I currently hold the following degrees:

  • MBA, Western Governors University
  • MSc. in Management and Leadership, Western Governors University
  • BSc. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration, University of South Carolina
